Metsänväki- Forest folk

Satojen, ellei tuhansien vuosien ajan metsä oli Suomessa asuvien heimojen koti. Kulttuurin leviämisen myötä nämä vähäväkiset heimot viimein jättivät metsänsä ja muuttivat kaupunkeihin. Mutta heimot eivät koskaan unohtaneet, mistä olivat tulleet. Metsä jätti salaperäisen kaipuun paeta keinotekoista maailmaa, mielivaltaisia normeja, kaipuun palata takaisin kesyttämättömään kotiinsa, kaipuun metsään. 

Sillä metsä ei ole koskaan ollut ihmisten hallittavissa. Metsän elämää ohjaa metsänväki. Hänen, joka metsään uskaltautuu, on tultava metsänväen kanssa toimeen.

Vimma Ensemblen näytelmä Metsänväki on kuvaus ihmisen ja luonnon suhteesta, kuvaus rakkaudesta, pelosta, vieraan ja itsensä kohtaamisesta. Näytelmässä sekoittuvat ilo, suru, ahdistus, rieha, viha ja rakkaus. Kaikki ne tunteet, jotka pulppuavat samasta luonnonlapsen aistimasta alkuvoimasta, metsänväestä.

Metsänväki on alun perin kirjoitettu Olli Kiljusen toimesta Slovakian FAD 21 kansainvälisille teatterifestivaaleille, jossa VALO Ensemblen ja Vimman sekoitus, VALO Ensemble Summer Group kävi kutsuvieraina esiintymään elokuun 2021 alussa Katja Honkasen ohjaamana. Metsänväki saa seuraavan asteensa, kun esiintyvä nuorten ryhmä VIMMA Ensemble lähtee keväällä 2022 Liettuaan jalostamansa esityksen kanssa. Esityksen käsikirjoituksen päivittää Olli Kiljunen ja esityksen ohjaa Mia Kavasto yhdessä apuohjaajansa Iisak Helinin kanssa.

Wordless play - Forest Folk

For hundreds of thousands of years, the forest has been the home and residence of tribes living in Finland. With the spread of culture, these sparsely populated tribes eventually left their forests and moved to cities. But they never forgot where they had come from. The forest left them a mysterious longing to escape - a longing to escape the artificial world, arbitrary norms, a longing to return to their untamed home, a longing to the forest. 

For the forest has never been under human control. Forest life is controlled by forest people. He who dares to get into the forest must get along with the forest folk. Valo Ensemble summer Group's play Metsänväki is a description of the relationship between man and nature, a description of love, fear, the encounter between a stranger and oneself. The play mixes joy, sorrow, anxiety, rage, anger and love. All those emotions that pulp from the same primordial force that a natural child senses ... the forest people.

So here is a story of the forest folk! This play was first meant to be performed at Slovakia FAD 21 festival, which will took place in the beginning of August 2021. The performance will leap to a new level, as VIMMA Ensemble will re-new it to Liethuania in April 2022! The performance is suited to all international and domestic stages!
